Getting Ready with your Laptop
Modules in SoE require students to have their own Windows-based laptop. You may be required to bring your laptop to school for practical lessons. Look out for instructions on PoliteMall or in your school email for these updates. If you do not have a laptop, you are advised to purchase it well before term starts so that you will have it set up by the time you need it for course work.
You will find from here the information for purchasing the laptop through our authorized suppliers. If you need to, place your order directly with the supplier while making sure mode of payment and date of delivery. Any hardware repair while it is within warranty, students are advised to look for the vendor.
Note that you may apply for a loan here if you have difficulty affording a laptop.
Students may be entitled to use license of some software purchased by the school (e.g. MS Office). Visit this page for downloading and setting up software.
If you encounter any issues, you may contact IT Helpdesk for help in various aspects such as issues faced in installation of software, setting up on user account and network connectivity issue in school.
